What You’ll Be Doing
The successful candidate will:
- Provide supervision and direction for implementing the nursing care plan and ensure quality patient care
- Implement standards, practices, and indicators aligned with quality nursing outcomes
- Practice nursing within the scope of South African legal, ethical, and regulatory frameworks
- Foster collaborative working relationships with other healthcare professionals and departments
- Optimize the use of human, physical, and material resources effectively
- Promote quality clinical nursing care based on institutional standards
- Work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams for enhanced patient outcomes
- Provide nursing care that reflects cultural, intellectual, racial, and religious diversity
- Plan, organize, and manage own and support staff workloads
- Adhere to Batho Pele Principles and the Patient’s Rights Charter in daily practice
- Serve as shift leader when necessary to ensure smooth unit operations
- Participate in continuous professional development, training, and institutional research

Requirements (as per the official post)
- Diploma/Degree in nursing (Basic R171, R174 or R425) qualification or equivalent that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional/Registered Nurse
- Registration with SANC as a Professional/Registered Nurse
- Strong communication, coordination, facilitation, and report-writing skills
- Excellent planning, problem-solving, and information management abilities
- Willingness to work shifts and participate in staff rotations
