The successful candidates will be responsible for preparing normal and therapeutic diets, portioning meals, adhering to hygiene and safety standards, and managing allocated resources. The department seeks dedicated team players who are ready to work under stressful conditions, including weekends, night shifts, and public holidays. Requirements:

  • NQF Level 2 or Grade 10 or equivalent qualification.
  • Food service experience in a clinical or hospital environment is advantageous.
  • Preference will be given to EPWP/Interns.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to work as part of a team and under stressful conditions.
  • Availability to work weekends, night shifts, and public holidays.
  • Commitment to workplace diversity and equity, especially in terms of race, gender, and disability.
Duties:
  • Prepare normal and therapeutic diets following standardized recipes.
  • Portion meals according to ration scales and prescriptions.
  • Adhere to hygiene and safety protocols as per HACCP rules and OHS standards.
  • Handle and lift heavy food service equipment.
  • Manage allocated resources efficiently.
  • Be flexible to assist in various areas of the Cook Freeze Factory as needed.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development programs.
