Introduction
Department of Labour x163 UIF Claims Officers 2025 The Department of Employment and Labour is calling upon passionate, dedicated, and qualified South Africans to apply for the newly opened UIF Claims Officer positions. With a massive intake of 163 posts spread across various offices in Limpopo Province, this recruitment drive supports the government’s strategic plan to enhance service delivery through the Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF). This initiative aims to tackle youth unemployment, promote inclusive employment equity, and reinforce public service capacity.
Job Description:
The UIF Claims Officer roles are subdivided into five categories:
- UIF Claims Officer: Paymaster (X37 Posts)
- UIF Claims Officer: Employer Services (X45 Posts)
- UI Claims Officer: Assessment (X42 Posts)
- UIF Client Service Officer (X28 Posts)
- Client Service Officer: Inspection and Enforcement Services (X7 Posts)
- Client Service Officer: Public Employment Services (X4 Posts)
Each role is focused on improving the speed, accuracy, and efficiency of UIF processing and customer engagement. Successful candidates will play an integral role in upholding service excellence within the department and ensuring compliance with UIF legislation.
Requirements:
- Senior Certificate / Grade 12 / Matric
- Familiarity with the Unemployment Insurance Act, Labour Relations Act, Public Finance Management Act (PFMA)
- Understanding of Batho Pele Principles, Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), and other applicable public sector frameworks
- No criminal record
- Applicants must be South African citizens and eligible to work in the public sector
Role Responsibility:
- Handle UIF benefits applications, ensuring all documentation is correctly submitted and processed
- Conduct verification and validation of UIF claims
- Provide efficient administrative support to ensure smooth operations of the claims office
- Assist in the registration and continuation of benefit payment processes
- Deliver effective client support through both in-person and digital communication channels
- Ensure strict compliance with departmental policies and UIF regulations
- Perform field visits when necessary for employer inspections and verifications
- Collaborate with fellow officers to streamline internal procedures and reduce turnaround times

- Sound knowledge of legislative interpretation
