Introduction
Ekurhuleni West TVET College (EWC) is offering traineeship opportunities for 2025, giving young South Africans the chance to gain valuable workplace exposure while building their careers. These 18-month structured training programmes are designed to provide practical work experience aligned with academic qualifications. Successful applicants will receive a monthly stipend of R4 326.00 while acquiring skills in real work environments at the Boksburg and Germiston campuses.
What is Ekurhuleni West TVET College (EWC) Traineeships?
Ekurhuleni West TVET College Traineeships are workplace training programmes aimed at equipping graduates with practical skills to prepare them for permanent employment. These traineeships serve as a bridge between theoretical learning and industry requirements, offering hands-on exposure in specialised fields such as library and media services, as well as management and administration support.
Minimum Requirements
Library and Media / Study Centre Trainee (Boksburg)
- Diploma in Information Science (Librarianship)
Management Assistant Trainee (Business, Germiston)
- N6 Certificate in Management Assistant
Role Responsibility
Library and Media / Study Centre Trainee
- Manage and update library databases
- Assist learners with media centre resources and computers
- Handle purchasing and ordering of library and media resources
- Manage correspondence related to media activities
- Issue and receive media and library resources for learners and staff
- Keep attendance registers and monitor reservations
- Recommend stock purchases
- Handle photocopying, subject files, exam files, and stock audits
- Prepare and present media centre reports
- Perform administrative duties including filing, calls, and general office tasks
Management Assistant Trainee
- Provide office and administrative support
- Answer calls and assist with customer queries
- Draft and process letters, minutes, memoranda, and emails
- File and manage official documentation
- Collect and distribute mail and faxes
- Capture student data and support registration processes
- Perform ITS system data capturing tasks
