Programme Overview
The Department of Tourism hereby invites applications from interested candidates to be part of the Tourism Monitors Programme for a period of four (4) months ending 31 August 2026. Candidates are encouraged to only apply to municipalities and establishments within their residential/local areas.

Requirements
- Be a South African citizen (Certified copy of Identity Document)
- Be unemployed youth between the ages of 18 to 35
- Be in possession of a Matric certificate or equivalent qualification
- Be literate and conversant in English
- Added qualifications in tourism or environmental-related fields will be an advantage
- Stay within a 40km – 50km radius of the attractions/sites (Proof of residence required)
- Be able to work flexible hours (weekends, public holidays, and when required)
- Have a passion or interest in the tourism sector
- Must have own reliable transport to and from workplace/station
Disqualification Criteria
- Not more than one (1) learner per household
- No affidavits will be accepted as proof of residence
Important Notes
- Correspondence will be limited to shortlisted candidates only
- If not contacted within three (3) weeks after closing date, consider application unsuccessful
