Job Description
The Officer ETDP (Education, Training, and Development Practitioner) will be responsible for developing and delivering technical or non-technical training interventions to Eskom employees. This includes on-the-job training, coaching, facilitation, assessments, and evaluations to support Eskom’s operational readiness and compliance with relevant legislation and standards.
Officers in this role will be expected to apply innovative training technologies and methodologies to ensure learning is efficient, engaging, and transferable to the work environment. The selected candidates will also be accountable for maintaining accurate records and ensuring end-to-end training administration.

Eskom is searching for well-rounded individuals who bring both technical excellence and a passion for education. The ideal candidates must possess:
For Technical Training Roles:
- National Diploma in Technical Field / Power Plant Process Control Operations (NQF 5 or 6)
- National N Diploma plus Trade Test
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in technical training or plant operations
- Sound knowledge of power station systems and safety procedures
For Non-Technical Training Roles:
- National Diploma in Education, Training and Development Practice (ETDP), Educational Sciences, or Human Resource Management
- All qualifications must be NQF Level 6 with 240 credits
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in education and training delivery
Role Responsibility
The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Delivering structured and engaging training sessions aligned with Eskom’s skills development strategy
- Facilitating learning for diverse employee groups using approved training materials
- Conducting formative and summative assessments to evaluate learner progress
- Monitoring the effectiveness of training interventions and modifying delivery techniques as needed
- Keeping abreast of training technologies and applying best practices for improved learning outcomes
- Collaborating with line managers and department heads to identify training needs
- Administering training logistics including scheduling, attendance, and documentation
- Ensuring compliance with Eskom’s training quality assurance and reporting requirements
- Establishing strong lines of communication with stakeholders to support workforce planning and talent development
