Introduction
The BANKSETA, in collaboration with the Education, Training and Development Practices Sector Education and Training Authority (ETDP SETA), invites applications for the Graduate Internship Programme 2025. This 24-month internship aims to empower unemployed South African graduates by providing practical workplace exposure in key fields such as research, finance, HR, and communications. The initiative plays a critical role in preparing young professionals for long-term careers in the banking and education sectors.
What is BANKSETA Graduate Internships?
The BANKSETA Graduate Internship Programme is a structured two-year initiative offering mentorship, training, and practical experience to graduates. The programme is designed to bridge the gap between academic learning and the world of work, enhancing employability while fostering innovation and growth in the financial services and education sectors.
Minimum Requirements:
Applicants must meet the following criteria to qualify for the programme:
- Must be a South African citizen between the ages of 18 and 35
- Must be unemployed at the time of application
- Must hold a completed qualification in one of the following fields:
- Research & Strategy – NQF Level 9 (Master’s) – 1 position
- Finance – NQF Level 8 (Honours/PGDip) – 1 position
- Marketing & Communications – NQF Level 8 (Honours) – 1 position
- Human Resources / Education / Training & Development – NQF Level 6+ or equivalent – 1 position
- Human Resources / Education / Training & Development – NQF Level 6+ or equivalent – 1 position (Eastern Cape Regional Office)
Role Responsibility:
As an intern, you will:
- Gain exposure to a professional work environment in your field of study
- Assist with projects, research, and organisational activities
- Support the daily operations of your assigned department
- Participate in mentorship and training sessions
- Contribute to innovation and skills development within the organisation
