Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Grade 12 or Equivalent
- Valid Commercial Pilot’s License
- Valid Multi-Engine Instrument Rating
- Valid Class I Medical Certificate
- Minimum of 700–1000 total flying hours depending on qualification combinations, including multi-engine or turbine hours, or type-rated experience on Boeing/Airbus
- No existing medical conditions
- South African citizenship with a valid RSA Passport and Identity Document
- Valid RSA Driver’s License and own transport
- No criminal record and willing to undergo drug and alcohol testing
- Knowledge of SACAA regulations, ATNS radiotelephony procedures, aviation theory, and South African weather systems
- Willingness to sign a 7-year Training Bond
Role Responsibility
Successful cadets will:
- Fully participate in the cadet training programme, including ground school, simulators, and flight instruction
- Acquire and demonstrate proficiency in aviation theory, systems, and operational procedures
- Develop situational awareness, problem-solving, and decision-making skills under operational conditions
- Maintain strict compliance with aviation safety standards and regulations
- Keep accurate training records and participate in performance assessments
- Engage in continuous learning and self-study to meet training requirements
- Progress to First Officer status upon meeting competency standards
- Demonstrate professionalism, discipline, and teamwork throughout training and operational activities
