The South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA) is offering an exciting opportunity for a Forensic Services Trainee to join its team in Midrand. The trainee will work under direct supervision in the Forensic Services Department, playing a pivotal role in protecting SACAA’s assets, reputation, and financial interests. This developmental role is ideal for recent graduates looking to kick-start a career in forensic investigations, financial crime prevention, and fraud risk management.
The primary goal is to ensure timely and effective investigative interventions that mitigate misconduct, uphold integrity, and drive organisational accountability through professional forensic support to internal stakeholders.
Tasks
As a Forensic Services Trainee, your duties will include:
- Forensic Proactive Service
- Assist in identifying areas for fraud risk management improvement
- Support the delivery of fraud training, awareness programs, and internal campaigns
- Promote awareness of SACAA’s fraud hotline
- Engage in audit and forensic collaborations
- Operational Management & Investigations
- Conduct forensic investigations using recognised methodologies
- Handle reports from the fraud hotline and assist in follow-up procedures
- Participate in interviews, take affidavits, and collect factual evidence
- Analyse statements, documents, and investigative evidence
- Compile and submit forensic investigation reports
- Maintain the chain of custody for all collected evidence
- Support in Implementation of Corrective Actions
- Prepare evidence to support corrective or disciplinary actions
- Collaborate in enforcement tribunals and liaise with law enforcement
- Participate in unscheduled forensic audits when required
- Communication & Stakeholder Engagement
- Provide regular feedback to the Manager and stakeholders on investigation progress
- Maintain professional and accurate communication with peers, clients, and leadership
Qualifications
To be eligible for this opportunity, applicants must possess:
- Minimum Qualification:
- National Diploma in Forensic Investigation, Forensic Auditing, Law, or a closely related NQF Level 6 qualification
Experience
- Ideal Candidate Profile:
- 1 year of experience in any of the following:
- Forensic Investigation
- Fraud Management
- Fraud Risk Management / Assessments
- 1 year of experience in any of the following:
