Introduction
Gert Sibande TVET College, in collaboration with the Wholesale and Retail Sector Education and Training Authority (W&RSETA), invites applications for the 2025 Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Programme. This initiative provides valuable in-service training opportunities for graduates in Business Studies who require practical workplace experience to complete their qualifications. With only 20 positions available, the programme offers participants a unique opportunity to develop real-world skills, enhance employability, and bridge the gap between academic learning and workplace practice.

What is The Gert Sibande TVET College and W&RSETA Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Programme?
The Gert Sibande TVET College and W&RSETA WIL Programme is designed for Report 191 Business Studies graduates who hold N4–N6 qualifications. It offers 18 months of structured, supervised workplace training in various organizations within the Gert Sibande region. Participants will gain exposure in areas such as Business Management, Marketing Management, Human Resource Management, Financial Management, and Management Assistance. The programme specifically targets unemployed South African youth between the ages of 18 and 35 who have not previously taken part in a WIL programme for the same qualification.

Minimum Requirements:

  • South African citizenship
  • Age between 18 and 35 years
  • Relevant qualifications: Business Management, Marketing Management, Human Resource Management, Financial Management, or Management Assistant
  • Matric/NCV (NQF Level 4) and N4–N6 certificates in relevant fields
  • Proficiency in English
  • No criminal record
  • Unemployed and not previously placed in a WIL Programme for the same qualification
  • Preference for students currently volunteering in related workplaces (proof of service required)

Role Responsibility:
Participants in the WIL Programme will be expected to:

  • Complete 18 months of structured in-service training
  • Apply theoretical knowledge in practical business environments
  • Demonstrate commitment, professionalism, and willingness to learn
  • Contribute meaningfully to the host company’s daily operations
  • Uphold workplace ethics and compliance standards
