Heineken: New General Worker – Customer Services Deliveries 2024 The role of the General Worker is crucial in supporting the distribution process. This position involves performing various manual tasks to ensure that distribution targets are met and products are delivered to customers efficiently and on time.

Purpose of the Job:
Key Responsibilities:
- Report any defects, breakages, issues, and stock shortages to the Driver.
- Suggest improvements or innovations to Management that can save the company time or money.
- Accurately load and off-load sprinters.
- Ensure products are correctly packed into sprinters for safe transport.
- Adhere to quality assurance standards to minimize breakages and losses.
- Handle company products with care.
- Follow instructions from the Driver, Logistics Controller, or Customer Services Supervisor.
- Secure loads before the truck leaves the premises.
- Assist with general duties on-site, including tasks related to trailer loading and unloading.
- Communicate work-related issues with the Controller or Manager.
- Maintain designated areas through general housekeeping.
- Comply with company health and safety regulations.
- Wear Personal Protective Clothing as provided by the company.
- Keep vehicles clean as requested by the Driver or Management.
- Perform ad-hoc tasks as instructed by the supervisor.
- Investigate and improve asset utilization to contain operational costs.
- Follow organizational policies and procedures, and seek opportunities for continuous improvement.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Minimum Grade 12 (Matric) Qualification.
- At least 6 months of experience in a similar role.
- Experience in the alcoholic beverages industry is advantageous.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- A valid driver’s license for a delivery vehicle (Code EC/ PDP).
- A commercial driver’s license is an added advantage.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Safe and responsible driving skills.
- Ability to operate delivery vehicles and manage the loading and unloading of products.
- Physical fitness to handle the demands of the position.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Willingness to work after hours and/or shifts if necessary.
- Flexibility to handle multiple deliveries in a fast-paced environment.
