Introduction
The Hessequa Local Municipality is inviting unemployed South African youth to apply for the N6 Internship Programme 2025. This programme is designed to bridge the gap between academic learning and real workplace experience. It provides valuable exposure to municipal operations, helping young graduates gain the skills necessary to start building a career in local government.
What is Hessequa Municipality N6 Internships 2025?
The N6 Internship Programme offers a 12-month fixed-term opportunity for graduates who have completed their N6 qualification. The programme aims to support workplace readiness while building capacity in key municipal functions. Interns will work at the Riversdale municipal offices and must reside within the Hessequa region.
Available fields of placement include:
- Management Assistant
- Public Administration
- Human Resources
A total of 2 internship positions are available, and each successful candidate will receive a monthly stipend of R4 000.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria to qualify:
- Completed N6 qualification in Management Assistant, Public Administration, or Human Resources
- South African citizenship with a valid ID
- Proof of residence within the Hessequa region
- Applicants must not have previously participated in an internship programme
Role Responsibility
Interns will assist municipal departments with day-to-day duties, including:
- Providing general office and administrative support
- Handling customer service and telephone reception
- Filing, data capturing, and maintaining records
- Supporting HR and public administration tasks
- Carrying out any other duties assigned by supervisors
Skills and Attributes
Ideal candidates should demonstrate the following:
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
- Good interpersonal skills for customer service roles
- Organisational and time-management abilities
- Attention to detail with accurate data capturing skills
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a professional work environment
