Introduction

The Limpopo Department of Transport and Community Safety has announced the opening of the Traffic Learner Officer Learnership Programme 2025. This opportunity is aimed at unemployed South African youth who are eager to build a career in traffic law enforcement. With 154 available posts, this 12-month structured training programme equips learners with both theoretical knowledge and practical field experience.

What is Limpopo Department of Transport: Traffic Learner Officer Learnerships 2025?

The learnership is a government initiative designed to train and develop young individuals into competent traffic officers. Learners will undergo accredited training that prepares them to enforce traffic laws, ensure road safety, and manage traffic operations effectively.

This initiative not only provides job readiness skills but also offers a chance to secure employment in the law enforcement sector upon completion.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet the following requirements to be considered:

  • Grade 12 certificate or equivalent qualification
  • Age between 18 and 35 years
  • Valid Code B driver’s licence (manual transmission)
  • No criminal record
  • No visible tattoos deemed unprofessional
  • Medical certificate proving fitness for strenuous exercise
  • Not declared unfit to possess a firearm under the Firearm Control Act, 2000
  • Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays (24/7 operations)
  • South African citizenship with valid proof of ID

Role Responsibility

Successful applicants will be responsible for:

  • Learning and applying traffic law enforcement procedures
  • Assisting in traffic control and accident prevention measures
  • Participating in road safety awareness campaigns
  • Supporting operations such as roadblocks and compliance checks
  • Demonstrating professionalism and discipline during training and service
