Job Responsibilities
- Passenger Safety:
Ensure the safe transportation of Route Inspectors and other passengers, prioritizing safety at all times. - Automated Fare Collection (AFC) Management:
Oversee the AFC system, ensuring passengers correctly tap in and out, maintaining accurate fare records. - Route Adherence:
Follow the designated routes meticulously, adhering to schedules or specific instructions to ensure timely operations. - Special Duty Functions:
Perform additional duties as required, showcasing flexibility and a commitment to the role. - Compliance with Traffic Regulations:
Adhere strictly to traffic rules and regulations as per the National Road Traffic Act, 1996 (Act 93 of 1996) and other relevant laws, ensuring legal compliance. - Knowledge of Traffic Laws:
Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the National Road Traffic Act, 1996, to make informed decisions and ensure compliance.
Job Requirements
- Educational Qualification:
Must possess a Grade 12 (Matric) certificate, demonstrating the necessary foundational education for the role. - Driver’s License:
A valid Code 8/EB Driver’s License or Code C1 is required, ensuring the candidate is qualified to operate the necessary vehicles. - Criminal Record:
A clean criminal record is mandatory, reflecting the candidate’s reliability and integrity. - Physical Fitness and Health:
Candidates must be physically fit and healthy to meet the demands of the job and ensure passenger safety. - Work Schedule Flexibility:
Willingness and ability to work shifts and overtime, accommodating the dynamic nature of public transportation.
