Mineral Resources and Energy Food Aide Service 2024 The Department of Mineral Resources and Energy is seeking dedicated individuals to fill the role of Food Aide Service Providers. In this position, you’ll play a vital part in maintaining a clean and efficient food service environment, ensuring the well-being of our staff.

  • Salary/Stipend: R131 265 per annum (Level 02)

The Mineral Resources and Energy Food Aide Service 2024 initiative represents a significant step by the South African government to address food security, particularly in communities impacted by the activities of the mining and energy sectors. This program, spearheaded by the Department of Mineral Resources and Energy (DMRE), aims to provide essential food supplies and nutritional assistance to vulnerable populations in areas where mining operations and energy projects have had significant socio-economic and environmental effects. By leveraging resources from both the private sector and government partnerships, this initiative strives to reduce hunger and improve the quality of life for these communities.

Your daily tasks will include:

  • Sanitizing kitchenware and appliances to the highest standards
  • Providing support with catering operations
  • Maintaining an organized inventory of cooking tools and utensils
  • Adhering to strict safety and hygiene protocols
  • Ensuring all food served meets stringent quality control standards
  • Managing waste disposal responsibly

Required Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

  • Grade 9 or ABET 2 (NQF Level 1) with no experience required
  • A strong understanding of the Public Service Act, the Public Service Portfolio, and the political and parliamentary processes in South Africa
  • Excellent communication and diplomatic skills
  • The ability to think critically and creatively
