Alert Engine Parts, a reputable name in the automotive parts sector, is currently hiring two (2) General Workers for its Mega Midas Branch in Polokwane, Limpopo. The ideal candidate will be responsible for executing various general warehouse duties to maintain efficiency, accuracy, and cleanliness within the workplace. This opportunity is well-suited for individuals with a strong work ethic and a keen eye for detail, particularly those experienced in stock management and warehouse operations.
Tasks
- Binning Responsibilities:
- Accurately bin incoming merchandise as per standard operating procedures.
- Replenish stock from bulk to picking locations when necessary.
- Allocate bin location numbers to new products and report updates.
- Perform regular bin updates and ensure effective stock allocation.
- Picking Duties:
- Timely picking of branch and customer orders to meet cut-off deadlines.
- Avoid picking from bulk unless necessary to maintain pack integrity.
- Follow standard operating procedures to enhance customer satisfaction.
- Participate in daily and scheduled stock takes.
- Maintain daily housekeeping of the warehouse floor.
- Perform double checks to reduce inventory loss and increase order accuracy.
- Meet operational targets as outlined by management.
- Scanner Control:
- Issue scanners to staff at the start of shifts using an electronic tracking system.
- Receive and inspect scanners for damage post-use.
- Report damaged scanners to the supervisor.
- Record scanner activity on the electronic app and maintain daily logs.
Qualifications
- Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent literacy and numeracy qualification.
Experience
- A minimum of 3 years in a warehouse and/or logistics environment is desirable.
- Knowledge of spare parts, motor parts, engine components, and warehouse systems will be a strong advantage.
