Background & Job Description
The Necsa Learning Academy (NLA) is inviting motivated and unemployed South African youth to apply for its highly respected Apprenticeship Programme for 2025–2027. This nationally recognised initiative aims to provide formal technical and professional development in a range of vital occupational trades.
Successful candidates will undergo an intensive structured apprenticeship training over three years that will culminate in a nationally recognised Occupational Certificate. These programmes are fully accredited and designed to produce work-ready artisans for the South African economy.
Tasks
As part of the apprenticeship programme, successful candidates will:
- Participate in theoretical and practical training in their chosen occupational trade
- Perform hands-on maintenance and repair work under the supervision of experienced mentors
- Engage in safety protocols and industrial training activities
- Prepare for and undertake assessments in line with Occupational Certificate requirements
- Complete logbooks, assignments, and reports as required during the training
- Work collaboratively in team-based environments and contribute to workshop operations
Qualifications
To be eligible for consideration, applicants must meet one of the following minimum academic requirements:
- Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) with Mathematics and Science
- N2 – N6 with four relevant subjects including trade theory
- Technical Matric with Maths, Science, and trade-related theory
- NCV Level 3 or 4 Engineering Certificate with seven subjects and relevant trade theory
Additional requirements:
- Sound technical knowledge
- Ability to function effectively within a team environment
- Candidates must be medically fit
- Must successfully pass security clearance, qualification verification, and technical assessment
- Must be available for interviews if shortlisted
- Ensure the correct reference number is used in the application—failure to do so will result in disqualification
Experience
- No formal work experience is required, making this programme ideal for recent school leavers and unemployed youth
- However, candidates must demonstrate a genuine interest in technical trades and a willingness to learn
