Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria to be considered for the Porter vacancies:
- Minimum of Grade 10 or ABET Level 04 and above, or an equivalent qualification
- Knowledge of portering services
- Experience working in a mortuary will be an added advantage
- Ability to communicate in more than one official language
- Strong passion for working with patients and the public
- Knowledge of customer care practices
- Self-driven and motivated to work as part of a team
- Willingness to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays
Role Responsibility
The successful candidates will be responsible for ensuring smooth patient and mortuary services within the hospital. Duties include:
- Escorting and accompanying patients from reception to wards, sections, or vehicles
- Loading and offloading patients safely and with care
- Assisting nursing staff in transferring patients between beds and trolleys
- Displaying a respectful, friendly, and professional attitude toward patients, relatives, colleagues, and supervisors
- Transporting corpses to the mortuary, completing the mortuary register, and managing relevant files
- Recording daily work activities in the Porter’s control sheet
- Carrying out additional tasks as allocated by the supervisor
