Job Description
Netcare Olivedale Hospital is actively recruiting two TVET Work-Based Learnerships for learners who need to complete their N6 practical work-based experience. The selected candidates will undergo hands-on training and mentorship in one of the following fields:
- Aircon and Refrigeration – Maintenance and repair of hospital HVAC systems
- Millwright – Installation, repair, and maintenance of hospital machinery and mechanical equipment
- Plumbing – Maintenance and troubleshooting of water supply systems, drainage, and sanitary fittings in the hospital environment
This programme provides comprehensive exposure to real-world industry scenarios, enabling learners to refine their technical competencies while gaining valuable work experience in a highly respected healthcare environment.
Ideal Candidate
To be eligible for this learnership, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Successfully completed N6 theory in Aircon and Refrigeration, Millwright, or Plumbing
- Seeking first-time learnership placement (candidates who have previously participated in a learnership programme will not be considered)
- Must have passed all theoretical components – incomplete modules will result in disqualification
- Display a strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and adaptability
- Ability to work in a hospital environment, following health and safety regulations
Role Responsibility
Learners will be responsible for:
- Assisting in the installation, maintenance, and repair of hospital infrastructure related to their specific trade
- Working under supervision to develop hands-on skills in a controlled and structured environment
- Following a structured learning plan to ensure all competencies are achieved
- Adhering to hospital safety protocols and maintenance regulations
- Reporting to senior technicians and maintenance supervisors
- Documenting work processes and submitting progress reports
- Participating in training sessions and assessments
