Introduction
The North West Parks & Tourism Board (NWPTB) invites unemployed South African graduates to apply for its 2025 Graduate Internship Programme. This 12-month structured programme is designed to provide graduates with practical workplace exposure in tourism, conservation, human resources, and environmental management. It offers young professionals the opportunity to gain valuable work experience while contributing to sustainable biodiversity management and tourism growth in the North West Province.
What is North West Parks & Tourism Board Graduate Internship Programme?
The NWPTB Graduate Internship Programme is a skills development initiative aimed at bridging the gap between academic knowledge and workplace experience. Graduates will be placed in different divisions of the organisation depending on their field of study. This programme supports employability and provides opportunities for professional growth, while also helping the province strengthen its tourism and conservation sectors.
Minimum Requirements:
To be considered for the internship, applicants must:
- Be South African citizens aged between 18–35 years
- Be unemployed at the time of application
- Hold a relevant qualification from a recognised South African University or University of Technology in one of the specified fields
- Demonstrate a strong interest in tourism, conservation, HR, or environmental management
- Have good communication and interpersonal skills
Role Responsibility:
Interns will be placed in relevant departments where they will:
- Gain practical experience in their chosen field
- Contribute to projects that promote biodiversity conservation and sustainable tourism
- Assist in administrative and operational functions
- Participate in initiatives that support community development and eco-tourism
- Learn about public sector operations within the North West Province

Internship Opportunities Available
The NWPTB Graduate Internship Programme offers placements in the following fields:
- National Diploma in Nature Conservation (10 posts)
Gain experience in conservation practices, wildlife management, and sustainable resource use. - Diploma/Degree in Tourism Management and Development (10 posts)
Practical exposure in destination management, tourism development, and community tourism initiatives. - Diploma/Degree in Human Resources Management (5 posts)
Hands-on experience in HR processes such as recruitment, staff development, and organisational support. - Bachelor of Science in Environmental Management (2 posts)
Focused training in environmental planning, compliance, and sustainability projects.
