Role Responsibility: NATIONAL PROSECUTING AUTHORITY Training 2025

Candidates accepted into the NPA Training Programme 2025 will participate in a comprehensive learning experience designed to provide deep exposure to the legal and justice system. While the roles and tasks may vary depending on the assigned regional office, participants will typically be expected to:

  • Assist senior prosecutors in court proceedings
  • Draft legal documents and opinions
  • Perform legal research and prepare case notes
  • Interact with victims, witnesses, and law enforcement officials
  • Support the administration of justice in line with the South African legal framework
  • Observe and participate in court sessions for learning and development

Minimum Requirements

  • A completed or final-year LLB degree
  • Must be a South African citizen
  • Must have no previous criminal record
  • Willingness to undergo security vetting and fingerprint checks
  • Must apply to only one NPA centre
  • Ability to submit the most recent Z83 form (completed in block letters if handwritten)
  • Comprehensive CV detailing legal experience or education
