If you have a passion for Life Science and Mathematics or Maths Literacy, and your June exam results meet our specified criteria, we encourage you to apply for our 2025 intake. Our Academy offers a comprehensive training program designed to equip you with the skills and knowledge required to become a proficient Phlebotomy Technician.

Key Competency Requirements

To be considered for this prestigious program, applicants must meet the following specific requirements:

  1. Academic Performance:
    • June 2024 results must include Life Science/Biology with a minimum score of 50%.
    • Mathematics with at least 40% or Maths Literacy with at least 60%.
  2. Language Proficiency:
    • Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
    • Basic proficiency in reading, writing, and understanding Afrikaans.
  3. Teamwork and Independence:
    • Ability to work effectively both as part of a team and independently.
  4. Pressure Management:
    • Capacity to work under pressure and engage in rigorous study.
  5. Work Ethic:
    • Possession of a well-developed work ethic.
  6. Job Responsibilities:
    • Willingness to collect and/or process blood and body products.
  7. Customer Service:
    • Ability to provide excellent service and be responsive to customer needs.
  8. Work Schedule:
    • Willingness to work shifts and after hours as required.

Selection Process

Our selection process is highly competitive and includes the following stages:

  1. Screening:
    • Applications and academic results will be meticulously screened.
  2. Online Proficiency Tests:
    • Shortlisted candidates will be invited to undergo online proficiency tests.
  3. Panel Interviews:
    • Candidates with the highest scores from the proficiency tests will be invited to attend panel interviews.

Only candidates who fully comply with the application instructions, score the highest in the competitive testing and interview processes, and are deemed most suitable will be selected for the program.
