Job Description:
The Sales Learnership Programme offered by PepsiCo is a structured and accredited training plan designed to provide hands-on experiential learning coupled with academic instruction. The program will run for a period of 12 months, during which learners will rotate across various sales environments, apply marketing theory, and gain field experience on customer interactions and route optimization.

Requirements:
To qualify for the Sales Learnership opportunity at PepsiCo South Africa, applicants must meet the following minimum criteria:

  • Must hold a 3-year Business or Commercial Tertiary Qualification
  • Must possess a valid Code 10 Driver’s License
  • Must have a valid Public Driver’s Permit (PDP)
  • South African citizenship
  • Passionate about sales, marketing, and customer service
  • Able to commit to the full 12-month duration of the learnership
  • Willingness to travel and engage in field-based activities

Role Responsibility:
The role of a Sales Learner includes a combination of learning, practical execution, and performance tracking. Learners will be assigned to a specific sales route or region and will be held accountable for meeting key performance indicators and service delivery expectations.

Core responsibilities include:

  • Achieve sales revenue and volume targets in line with the Annual Operating Plan
  • Conduct customer visits and ensure a 100% call rate is maintained
  • Reach a minimum of 90% strike rate in sales engagements
  • Maintain stales threshold rate below 0.5%
  • Secure new business acquisition opportunities as per company goals
  • Manage product stock and cash efficiently while ensuring high integrity
  • Review and analyse sales reports to identify areas for route optimization and improvement
  • Promote cost-efficiency through smart driving and fuel management
  • Ensure compliance with company policies including Health & Safety and Code of Conduct
  • Maintain cleanliness and usability of company assets such as vehicle, mobile phone, uniforms, and hand-held systems
