The 12-month fixed-term contract is designed to provide young professionals with meaningful on-the-job experience at either the Eastport Distribution Centre in Ekurhuleni, Johannesburg, or the Phillip Distribution Centre in the Western Cape. Job Description:
As a Pick n Pay Learner, you will be immersed in a high-paced, structured development programme tailored to support your growth in the retail distribution space. You will gain exposure to real-world challenges, be guided by experienced professionals, and have opportunities to put your theoretical knowledge into practice. Your involvement will span different areas of the distribution chain, allowing you to develop technical competence, gain valuable industry insight, and grow your interpersonal and business acumen.

  • Participate in hands-on projects across various disciplines within the Distribution Centre

Requirements:
To qualify for the Pick n Pay Learnership Programme, candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Completed a National Diploma in:
    • Information Technology
    • Logistics / Supply Chain (Candidates who excelled in the Project Management module will be prioritised)
  • South African citizenship
  • Not currently employed or registered for any other learnership or internship programme
  • Age between 18 and 35 years old
  • Passionate about retail and distribution operations
  • Must be available for the full 12-month duration of the programme

Role Responsibility:
Throughout the learnership period, candidates will be expected to:

  • Attend all scheduled training sessions and workshops
  • Engage with mentors and managers for career and skill development
  • Contribute to daily operational tasks in the distribution centre
  • Work collaboratively with team members to improve operational efficiency
  • Adhere to safety, health, and compliance standards
  • Take initiative and participate in performance feedback sessions
  • Provide regular reports and presentations as required
