The Gauteng Office of the Premier invites unemployed South African graduates to apply for its 2025 Internship Programme. By participating in this internship, graduates will actively contribute to the provincial government’s service delivery goals while enhancing their employability in both the public and private sectors.
What is the Gauteng Office of the Premier Internship?
The Gauteng Office of the Premier Internship is a 24-month structured programme designed to provide graduates with on-the-job training, professional mentorship, and career-building opportunities. The initiative forms part of the Gauteng Provincial Government’s broader skills development and youth empowerment strategy aimed at tackling unemployment while developing future leaders.
The programme offers placements in different units of the Office of the Premier, ensuring exposure to diverse areas such as administration, governance, infrastructure planning, human resources, and policy development.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be South African citizens residing in Gauteng Province
- Be between the ages of 18 and 35 years
- Be unemployed and not previously participated in a government internship programme
- Have completed academic studies and require workplace experience, or studied at a recognised South African institution
- Hold an NQF Level 6, 7, or 8 qualification in the relevant fields listed
Role Responsibility
Interns will be placed in various divisions to:
- Support the Gauteng Provincial Government’s service delivery initiatives
- Gain practical experience in administration, governance, and policy support
- Assist with research, reporting, and project management tasks
- Contribute to strategic planning, monitoring, and evaluation functions
- Participate in professional mentorship and training activities
