This 12-month programme is designed to equip unemployed graduates with practical work experience aligned with their fields of study. The closing date for applications is 7 May 2025, and internships will be hosted at Centurion and various locations across Gauteng.
Background & Job Description
PSiRA, as a statutory body responsible for regulating the private security industry in South Africa, continues its commitment to youth development and economic empowerment through the Youth Employment Service (YES) initiative. This internship programme targets unemployed South African youth between the ages of 18 and 35 with a completed qualification, providing hands-on training and a monthly stipend according to their qualification level.
Successful interns will be placed in relevant departments, including Finance (Debt Collection) and Law Enforcement Administration, where they will gain meaningful exposure to public administration, financial procedures, and operational functions crucial to supporting the country’s private security framework.
Tasks
Interns will be expected to perform the following duties under supervision:
- Assist with daily administrative and operational duties in the respective departments
- Compile, capture, and manage data related to finance or law enforcement
- Provide support in the preparation of reports, documentation, and audit files
- Handle public and internal queries within their assigned scope
- Coordinate departmental logistics and follow-up on outstanding documentation
- Participate in team meetings, workshops, and training sessions as required
Qualifications
Applicants must have completed a qualification relevant to the internship they’re applying for. Fields of study and applicable NQF levels include:
1. Finance: Debt Collection (Centurion, Gauteng)
- NQF Level 6: R5,000 stipend
- NQF Level 7: R6,000 stipend
- NQF Level 8: R7,000 stipend

Experience
While no previous work experience is required, candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Must be a South African citizen
- Must be between the ages of 18 and 35
- Must hold a completed qualification as outlined above
- Must not have previously participated in the YES Programme or any similar internship
- Must be available to commit to the full 12-month duration of the internship
