Available Internship Positions

Corporate Services Internships
1. Communications Intern (1 Position)
- Field of Study: National Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Corporate Communications, Communications, Public Relations, or Media.
Communications interns will be tasked with supporting the agency’s communication strategies, including media relations, internal communication, and public outreach.
2. Human Resource Management Intern (2 Positions)
- Field of Study: National Diploma/BTech in Human Resource Management, BCom in HR, or BA in Industrial Psychology.
Interns in HR Management will gain experience in recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and other essential HR functions.
3. Information Technology Intern (1 Position)
- Field of Study: National Diploma/Degree in ICT, A+/N+ Server Support; MTA and MCSE certifications are advantageous.
IT interns will assist in maintaining the agency’s IT infrastructure, providing technical support, and managing data systems.
4. Records Management Intern (1 Position)
- Field of Study: National Diploma/Degree in Information Services or Archives & Records Management.
Records Management interns will be responsible for organizing and maintaining records, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
5. Facilities Management Intern (1 Position)
- Field of Study: Higher Certificate/National Diploma/Degree in Facility Management.
Facilities Management interns will gain practical experience in managing physical infrastructure and ensuring the smooth operation of the agency’s facilities.
Finance Internships
6. Finance Intern (1 Position)
- Field of Study: National Diploma/Bachelor’s Degree in Financial Accounting, Cost and Management Accounting, or Financial Management.
Finance interns will be involved in financial planning, budgeting, and reporting, gaining valuable insight into the financial operations of the agency.
7. Supply Chain Management Intern (2 Positions)
- Field of Study: National Diploma/Degree in Supply Chain Management.
Supply Chain Management interns will assist in procurement, logistics, and inventory management, ensuring that the agency’s supply chain operates efficiently.
Engineering Internships
8. Operations Planning and Design Intern (4 Positions)
- Field of Study: National Diploma/BSc/BTech in Civil Engineering; National Diploma in Town Planning/Land Surveying; National Diploma/Degree in Developmental Studies, Office Management, or Public Administration; National Diploma/Degree in Environmental Management/Environmental Science; National Diploma/Degree in Environmental Health/Safety Management or Health and Safety.

9. Company Secretary Intern (1 Position)
- Field of Study: LLB or BA/BCom in Law.

13. Monitoring & Evaluation Intern (1 Position)
- Field of Study: National Diploma/BCom in Development Studies, Social Science, or Public Management; National Diploma in Public Relations or Communications; Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences with a major in Social Development, Community Development, or Development.
Monitoring and Evaluation interns will contribute to assessing the impact and effectiveness of the agency’s projects and initiatives, ensuring that objectives are met.
Stakeholder Relations Management Internships
14. Stakeholder Relations Management Intern (1 Position)
- Field of Study: National Diploma in Public Relations or Communications; Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences with a major in Social Development or Community Development.

Eligibility and Requirements
To be eligible for the RAL Internship Programme 2024/2026, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- South African Citizenship: Applicants must be South African citizens.
- Age: Applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 35 years.
- Qualification: Candidates must possess a relevant qualification in the field of study associated with the internship position they are applying for.
- No Prior Participation: Candidates who have previously participated in an internship programme within any government department or parastatal are ineligible for this programme.
