Rand Water x45 Sewer Operaters | Apply with Grade 12 Rand Water is seeking dedicated individuals to fill the role of Sewer Pump Station Operator on a 12-month fixed-term contract. As a Sewer Pump Station Operator, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of our sewer pump stations. Your daily tasks will include operating pumps, maintaining manual screens, performing inspections, and promptly reporting any issues to your supervisor. This position is crucial for maintaining the efficient flow of wastewater and contributing to a healthy environment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Receive handovers from previous shifts
- Sign the Pump Station Register
- Record pump readings and sump levels
- Operate and monitor inlet and outlet valves
- Conduct daily pump station inspections
- Clean screens and maintain pump station cleanliness
- Report faulty equipment and monitor pump operation
Qualifications and Skills:
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- 1 year of experience in sewer pump station operations
- Physically and medically fit
- Basic understanding of sewer pump stations, rigging, valves, pressure, and flow principles
- Knowledge of safety working procedures
- Good communication and housekeeping skills
- Safety-conscious attitude
- Ability to work well with others and cooperate
- Willingness to work overtime and shifts
