Siqalo Foods, a division of RCL Foods, is offering an exciting opportunity for young South Africans to join the Millwright Apprenticeship Programme 2025. This programme provides technical training, practical experience, and career development support to help apprentices qualify as professional Millwrights.

What is Siqalo Foods (RCL Foods) Millwright Apprenticeships?

The Siqalo Foods (RCL Foods) Millwright Apprenticeship is a 3-year fixed-term contract programme based in Boksburg, Gauteng. The apprenticeship aims to develop the technical competence and practical expertise needed to work as a qualified Millwright. Apprentices will gain exposure to structured workplace learning, theoretical classroom training, and on-the-job experience.

RCL Foods is recruiting five Millwright Apprentices for its Spreads Division. Apprentices will work under the guidance of the Engineering Site Services Lead, gaining valuable industry knowledge while contributing to operations.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Grade 12 with Mathematics and Science
• N3–N6 qualification (including trade-related subjects)
• Age between 18 and 35 years
• Female candidates are encouraged to apply under Employment Equity preference

Role Responsibility

Apprentices will be required to perform the following duties:

• Carry out basic maintenance tasks within their work area
• Assist with fault finding, repairs, and ensuring production efficiency
• Perform preventative and predictive maintenance activities
• Analyse breakdowns and contribute to improvement initiatives
• Support WCM (World Class Manufacturing) and RCM (Reliability-Centered Maintenance) plans
• Apply problem-solving techniques such as Fishbone and 5 Why for engineering issues
• Follow company safety rules and comply with Unilever safety and 5S standards
• Share knowledge and skills with team members using OPLs (One Point Lessons) and SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures)
