Job Title: Artisan Electrical
As an Artisan Electrical at RCL Foods, you will play an integral role in maintaining all electrical equipment at the Pretoria West Mill. Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe operation of all electrical systems. Key Responsibilities
- Maintenance of Electrical Equipment: Ensure the optimal functioning of all electrical equipment within the PTA Mill.
- Basic Field/PLC Fault Finding: Conduct basic fault finding on Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).
- VSD Maintenance: Maintain, program, commission, and troubleshoot Variable Speed Drives (VSD) – both AC and DC.
- Air-conditioners and Chillers Maintenance: Oversee the operation and maintenance of air-conditioners and chillers.
- Alternators Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance on alternators.
- Electrical Backup Systems: Manage and maintain electrical backup systems such as UPS and diesel generators.
- LV AC/DC Motors Maintenance: Conduct maintenance on low voltage AC/DC motors.
- New Equipment Installation: Install new electrical equipment as needed.
- Electrical Fault Finding: Perform thorough fault finding on electrical equipment.
- MV Systems Maintenance and Construction: Handle maintenance and construction tasks on medium voltage (MV) systems.
- Transformer Maintenance: Conduct routine maintenance on transformers.
- Routine Inspections: Ensure all routine inspections are performed as scheduled.
- Power Generation and Distribution Systems: Manage power generation and distribution systems.
- Protection Systems Programming and Fault Finding: Program and troubleshoot protection systems up to 33KV.
Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this position, you need to meet the following minimum requirements:
- Trade Test Certificate with N3: Essential qualification.
- N4 and Above: An N4 or higher qualification is advantageous.
- Institutionalized Training Program: Proof of successful completion of a formal training program is essential.
- Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in flour milling/milling is advantageous.
- Language Skills: Proficiency in reading, writing, and communicating in English.
- Computer Literacy: Proficiency in using computers for various tasks.
- MV Switching and Protection Systems Experience: Experience in medium voltage switching and protection systems up to 33KV.
- Wireman’s License: A valid Wireman’s License is required.
- Master Installation Electrician: This qualification is advantageous.
