Job Description

The successful candidate will be placed within the Demand Planning team for the duration of the internship. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract designed to fulfill the practical work experience requirement for the candidate’s qualification.

You will be exposed to end-to-end supply chain processes within a fast-paced environment, contributing to real projects and working alongside industry professionals. This is not just a theoretical learning experience—interns are expected to take ownership and actively contribute to the success of the supply chain operations.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Supporting the Demand Planning team with forecasting and inventory management
  • Assisting in the collection and analysis of data to improve supply chain efficiency
  • Coordinating with procurement, logistics, and warehousing departments
  • Participating in supply chain optimization projects
  • Providing administrative support where necessary
  • Learning and applying supply chain systems and tools

Ideal Candidate

RCL Foods is seeking an enthusiastic, committed, and proactive individual with a solid academic background and a genuine interest in supply chain and logistics management. This opportunity is exclusively for students who need work-integrated learning as part of their qualification.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Matric / Grade 12 Certificate
  • Currently in third or final year of studies towards a tertiary qualification in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Procurement
  • Must have certified proof of registration from your institution (dated within the last 3 months)
  • A compulsory letter from your tertiary institution indicating:
    • The requirement for practical work experience
    • Duration needed to fulfill academic requirements

Role Responsibility

As an intern at RCL Foods, you will be integrated into the daily operations of the Supply Chain department, learning from the best minds in the industry while being held accountable for key deliverables. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Shadowing demand planners and understanding demand forecasting techniques
  • Performing data entry and data validation tasks
  • Preparing weekly and monthly supply chain performance reports
  • Liaising with various internal departments to support smooth supply chain operations
  • Identifying bottlenecks in the process and proposing possible solutions
  • Participating in brainstorming and continuous improvement initiatives
