SARF Bursary Programme: Coverage and Responsibilities

- Presentations: Make a presentation to their Federation local branch on their study subject.
- Progress Reports: Submit a report on their academic progress every six months.
- Membership: Enroll as associate members of the SARF, actively participating in its activities and initiatives.
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for the SARF bursary, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Residency: Preference is given to South African residents, but applicants from SADC countries are also eligible. The SADC countries include Angola, Botswana, Comoros, DRC, Eswatini, Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Seychelles, South Africa, Tanzania, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
- Field of Study: Must be pursuing a qualification in one of the specified road transport fields.
- Institution: Must be enrolled at a recognized and accredited tertiary institution in South Africa, such as a University, University of Technology, or equivalent.
- Academic Endorsement: The application must be endorsed by the appropriate academic authority at the selected tertiary institution.
- Academic Performance:
- National Diploma students must have passed their first semester (S1) exams.
- Degree students must have completed their first-year exams.
- Advanced Levels: While preference is given to students at advanced levels (MTech, MSc, or higher), undergraduate students are also encouraged to apply.
- Study Mode: Preference is given to full-time students, though part-time and distance learning students are also eligible.
- Employment: Preference is given to applicants who are employees of SARF members.
- Career Intent: Applicants must intend to work within the South African road transport industry after graduation.
