What is the Santam Learnership Programme 2025?
The Santam Learnership Programme is an entry-level transformation initiative designed to build a sustainable skills pipeline that supports the objectives of Santam and the wider Sanlam Group. The programme focuses on bridging the skills gap in the short-term insurance sector by equipping unemployed youth with both theoretical knowledge and practical workplace exposure.
Upon successful completion, learners receive an NQF Level 4 insurance qualification and are prepared for FSCA regulatory exams (RE5). This provides eligibility for professional membership with the Insurance Institute of South Africa (IISA) as a Member (MIISA).

Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric certificate
- Minimum 50% pass in English and Second Language
- Minimum 40% in Mathematics or 60% in Mathematical Literacy
- Must be a South African citizen
- Age between 18 – 28 years
- Must be unemployed
- Must NOT be registered with any other tertiary institution
- Must NOT have completed any INSETA Learnership in Short-Term Insurance
- Persons with disabilities must provide a supporting medical document
- Must NOT have more than 1 year of work experience
Who Cannot Apply?
- Anyone with a post-matric qualification (Higher Certificate, Diploma, Degree, etc.)
- Individuals currently studying toward a post-matric qualification
- Applicants with more than one year of work experience
