The Process Trainee Role

As a Process Trainee, you will embark on a transformative 6-month journey designed to equip you with the skills and experience needed to become employable in the industry. Here’s what you can expect:

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Development Plan Completion:
  • Successfully complete the development plan within 6 months from your start date.
  • Follow the specific training curriculum as per the requirements of your position within the agreed timeframe.
  1. Performance Standards:
  • Meet the performance standards outlined in your development plan and training curriculum.
  • Participate in general and plant-specific induction programs.
  1. Training and Compliance:
  • Complete all legal training as per mill and section requirements.
  • Achieve plant licensing competency within the agreed timeframe.
  1. Workplace Standards:
  • Maintain a high level of housekeeping in your workplace.
  • Conduct regular Behavioural Based Safety observations.
  1. Team Collaboration:
  • Maintain good working relationships with your assigned coach and mentors.
  • Keep your training program up to date and communicate any barriers to your progress.
  1. Ethics and Participation:
  • Adhere to Sappi’s Code of Ethics.
  • Participate in shift activities as required.

Qualifications and Requirements

To qualify for this exciting opportunity, you should meet the following criteria:

  • Educational Background: Matric with Maths and Science or N3 Pulp and Paper or relevant N3 Engineering Studies.
  • Work Experience: No work experience is required.
  • Employment Status: You must be currently unemployed.
  • Age: Candidates should be between 18-25 years old.
  • Residency: You must permanently reside within 50km of Ngodwana.

Additionally, you are required to attach your original latest proof of residential address, a certified copy of your RSA ID, and your highest qualification.
