This role is based within Sasol’s EMI: Mining operations and will be responsible for ensuring operational compliance and quality standards in all mechanical maintenance relating to diesel-powered equipment across the plant and mining areas.   • Apply diesel mechanic trade skills to maintain plant and mining equipment
  • Support safety, health, environment and quality (SHEQ) compliance

  • Mentor junior artisans and learners in the workplace
  • Participate in daily safety meetings, PDAs (Plant Daily Assessments), and RCAs (Root Cause Analyses)

  • Lead task teams and act as a group leader when required

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 or N3 Certificate (must include English, Mathematics, and Physical Science)
  • Diesel Mechanic Trade Test (NQF Level 4)
  • Flameproof Certificate
  • Gas Testing Certificate
  • 0 – 5+ years of relevant diesel mechanic experience in a plant or mining environment
