This role is based within Sasol’s EMI: Mining operations and will be responsible for ensuring operational compliance and quality standards in all mechanical maintenance relating to diesel-powered equipment across the plant and mining areas. - Apply diesel mechanic trade skills to maintain plant and mining equipment
- Support safety, health, environment and quality (SHEQ) compliance
- Collaborate in performance-driven team settings

- Contribute to maintenance strategy and long-term plant sustainability
- Mentor junior artisans and learners in the workplace
- Participate in daily safety meetings, PDAs (Plant Daily Assessments), and RCAs (Root Cause Analyses)
- Assist in writing and improving work instructions for increased team competency
- Lead task teams and act as a group leader when required
- Uphold Sasol’s inclusive values and safety-first approach in all operations
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 or N3 Certificate (must include English, Mathematics, and Physical Science)
- Diesel Mechanic Trade Test (NQF Level 4)
- Flameproof Certificate
- Gas Testing Certificate
- 0 – 5+ years of relevant diesel mechanic experience in a plant or mining environment
