Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet the following criteria to qualify for the role:

  • National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (mandatory)
  • BTech/Advanced Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (advantageous)
  • EMS Competency (advantageous)
  • Minimum of 2+ years relevant working experience
  • Strong understanding of maintenance, engineering processes, and safety practices

Role Responsibility

The Mechanical Technician I will be responsible for a wide range of tasks, including but not limited to:

  • Ensuring work standards are achieved in terms of quality, deadlines, and output
  • Supporting company values, goals, and compliance requirements
  • Achieving delivery targets such as MOC’s, SAS documents, and discipline objectives
  • Ensuring all modifications adhere to MOC procedures
  • Supporting Sasol’s Asset Management philosophy and coordinating maintenance strategies
  • Assisting in RBI studies to enhance equipment reliability
  • Optimizing and controlling resources in a cost-conscious manner
  • Gathering and analyzing information to support decision-making
  • Upholding safety and risk management standards across all tasks
  • Contributing technical input to multidisciplinary project teams
  • Suggesting optimization opportunities to improve efficiency and reliability
  • Fostering effective working relationships with colleagues, managers, and clients
