The Pharmacy Sales Assistant role at Medirite Plus requires individuals who can efficiently handle sales transactions, assist customers with product selection, and maintain store standards. This position is key to ensuring customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
Key responsibilities include:

- Monitoring and preventing shoplifting by staying vigilant in-store

- Maintaining knowledge of new products and ongoing promotions
- Keeping the store clean, organized, and in line with visual merchandising standards
- Handling customer complaints professionally and escalating them to management when necessary
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate for the Pharmacy Sales Assistant position is a highly motivated individual with retail experience and a passion for customer service. They should be proactive, friendly, and possess strong problem-solving skills.
Minimum qualifications and experience:
- Essential: Matric / Grade 12 qualification
- Retail experience: At least 5 months of experience in a retail point-of-sale environment
- Sales experience: Proven retail sales experience is a must
Preferred skills and attributes:
- Bilingual, with fluency in both Afrikaans and English
- Knowledge of various payment methods (cash, bank card, credit cards, coupons, vouchers, etc.)
- Strong understanding of stock-receiving procedures and merchandising standards
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a high-paced retail setting
- Strong communication skills with an engaging and friendly personality
- Attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills
- Knowledge of customer service best practices
Role Responsibility
As a Pharmacy Sales Assistant at Medirite Plus, your primary role is to assist in the smooth running of the store by offering excellent customer service and maintaining operational efficiency. Your responsibilities will include:
Customer Service
- Greeting customers warmly and ensuring they have a positive shopping experience
- Assisting customers in selecting the right products based on their needs

Sales and Transactions

- Handling cash, credit card, and voucher transactions securely and accurately

- Conducting price audits to prevent discrepancies
- Organizing the sales floor according to the store’s standard operating procedures

Security and Loss Prevention
- Monitoring customer activity to prevent shoplifting and theft
- Reporting suspicious activity to management
- Following store protocols for handling incidents and discrepancies
