Introduction
The South African Weather Service (SAWS) is inviting unemployed TVET College graduates to apply for the 2025 Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Programme. This 18-month initiative provides young graduates with valuable workplace exposure in a professional environment, equipping them with the skills and experience needed to improve their employability.
What is the South African Weather Service (SAWS) Work Integrated Learning Programme?
The SAWS Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Programme is designed for unemployed graduates who have completed an N6 qualification and are seeking practical training to complete their diploma requirements. Through this programme, participants gain real-world workplace experience while contributing to the organisation’s daily operations. The 2025 intake focuses on Management Assistant N6 graduates, with three available positions.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria to be considered for the programme:
- Completed N6 qualification in Management Assistant
- Unemployed for less than 1 year since completing N6
- Must provide the following supporting documents:
- Certificate of Achievement
- Letter from the TVET College confirming intent to complete the Diploma
- Comprehensive CV (including certified ID copy, address, and other relevant details)
- People living with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply and must attach a medical confirmation letter of disability
Role Responsibility
Participants in the SAWS WIL Programme will:
- Gain practical workplace training aligned with their N6 Management Assistant qualification
- Provide administrative and management support within the organisation
- Contribute to daily office operations and departmental tasks
- Assist with document management, communication handling, and other general duties
- Work under mentorship and guidance to prepare for the completion of their TVET diploma

Stipend and Conditions
- Monthly stipend of R5,500
- Learners are responsible for arranging their own transport and accommodation near SAWS offices in Centurion
- Participation in the programme does not guarantee employment at SAWS upon completion
