Job Description

The selected candidates will participate in a structured 12-month employment programme within a dynamic retail environment. The goal of this programme is to provide participants with hands-on experience, workplace readiness, and professional exposure. The initiative is designed to help unemployed youth gain the necessary experience required to increase their employability.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting customers with inquiries and purchases
  • Managing stock and ensuring shelves are well-maintained
  • Providing excellent customer service
  • Learning about retail operations and processes
  • Supporting store staff with daily operations
  • Adhering to company policies and procedures

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate for this YES opportunity should meet the following criteria:

  • Aged between 18 and 28 years old
  • Matric qualification (preferred but not mandatory)
  • Available and willing to commit to a fixed-term 12-month contract
  • Has not been permanently employed by any single employer for more than 1 year
  • Not currently engaged in full-time studies during the year of employment (April 2025 ā€“ March 2026)
  • Has not previously participated in or been registered on the YES programme
  • Must arrange their own accommodation and transportation (if applicable)
  • Candidates from designated groups in line with the Employment Equity Act will receive preference

Role Responsibility
