Job Description
As a Sales Associate, you will serve as a key representative of Totalsports, ensuring every customer interaction is meaningful, helpful, and memorable. You’ll be responsible for assisting customers with their sporting needs, providing exceptional in-store experiences, and maintaining high merchandising standards. You will also be involved in driving store sales, restocking shelves, and contributing positively to team performance.
Key responsibilities include:
- Acting as a brand ambassador by delivering exceptional customer service
- Identifying customer needs and providing tailored product recommendations
- Meeting and exceeding sales targets through proactive engagement
- Staying up to date with current sports trends and new product releases
- Ensuring shelves are stocked and store displays are visually appealing
- Assisting with stock replenishment and inventory management
- Proactively seeking new sales opportunities and upselling where appropriate
- Supporting in-store promotions and brand activations
Ideal Candidate

Key qualifications and experience:
- Grade 12 (Matric) is a minimum requirement
- Previous retail or customer service experience is advantageous
- Knowledge of sporting goods and fitness gear will be a plus
- A strong understanding of customer service principles
- Ability to work flexible retail hours, including weekends and public holidays
Role Responsibility
Your main role will be to provide an outstanding in-store customer journey, ensuring each visitor feels welcome, valued, and assisted in finding the right sportswear or gear for their needs. As a sales associate, you play a direct part in helping customers lead healthier and more active lifestyles. You will also be tasked with maintaining the operational excellence of the store by organizing stock, reporting issues, and following visual merchandising standards.

- Driving store sales by understanding and meeting customer needs
- Working independently and as part of a team to achieve daily goals
- Supporting store management with day-to-day operations
- Keeping up to date with promotions, stock arrivals, and layout changes
