Minimum Requirements

To be eligible for the Tourism Monitors Programme 2025, applicants must:

  • Be unemployed South African citizens with a valid SA ID
  • Be aged between 18 and 35 years old
  • Hold a Matric certificate or equivalent qualification
  • Preferably have tertiary studies in tourism, hospitality, or environmental fields (advantageous but not compulsory)
  • Speak and read English fluently
  • Live within 40–100 km of the designated tourism site or national park
  • Have reliable transport (accommodation may be considered if far from the site)
  • Be available to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays
  • Demonstrate a genuine passion for tourism and community development
  • Not have participated in previous TMP intakes
