Job Description

The Learner Maintenance programme is a comprehensive, skills-driven Learnership designed to provide participants with industry-specific competencies over a defined period. Upon successful completion, learners will receive a National Qualification Framework (NQF) Level 3 certification.

Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this Learnership opportunity, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Educational Qualifications:
    • A completed National Technical Certificate (N3 to N6), OR
    • A Technical Matric with subjects such as:
      • Mathematics
      • Physical Science or Engineering Science
      • Electrical Trade Theory
      • Mechanical Trade Theory
      • Motor Trade Theory
      • Mechanical Drawing or Graphical Design
  • Employment Status:
    • Must be currently unemployed
    • Must not have participated in a Learnership of similar nature before
  • Age and Legal Requirements:
    • Must be a South African citizen
    • Must possess a valid ID
    • Must be between the ages of 18 and 35
  • Other Requirements:
    • Willingness to commit to the full duration of the programme
    • Availability to be based in Durban for the Learnership duration
    • No criminal record

Role Responsibility

As a Learner Maintenance participant, you will:

  • Assist in basic mechanical or electrical maintenance tasks under supervision
  • Operate and maintain production equipment as instructed
  • Follow safety procedures and wear personal protective equipment
  • Participate in team discussions and report maintenance issues
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Document maintenance and operational activities accurately
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives during the training
  • Complete all assigned learning modules and assessments within timeframes
