Job Description
The Trainee Fashion Graphic Designer will play a key role in conceptualizing and developing prints and graphics for various fabric types and garment styles. You will collaborate with Buyers, Fashion Designers, Manufacturers, Printers, and Mills to ensure that all graphic designs align with the unique DNA of Truworths’ brands. Ideal Candidate
A successful candidate will have a keen eye for fashion trends and possess the technical skills required to design graphics for garments and fabrics. They should be proficient in industry-standard design software and understand various printing techniques. A background in Graphic Design, Textile Design, or Fashion Design is essential, along with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a dynamic creative team.
Role Responsibility
- Design placement graphics, branding, and all-over prints for diverse fabric types and garment styles
- Research local and international print and fashion trends to determine key new directions
- Collaborate with Buyers and Fashion Designers to interpret seasonal trends into innovative graphics
- Ensure that designs meet the technical production requirements
- Work closely with Printers and Mills to bring creative concepts to life
- Adapt global fashion influences to suit the South African market
- Utilize Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign to create high-quality designs
- Stay updated on branding and graphic design innovations
