This Truworths Learnership is designed to develop your skills in retail operations, customer service, sales, and merchandising. You’ll be cross-trained to work both on the shop floor and at the service desk, giving you a well-rounded experience in a high-paced fashion retail environment.

Job Description

The purpose of the Stores Learnership is to empower and train unemployed youth to become competent, confident, and effective retail professionals. The selected individuals will undergo structured learning and practical experience over a period in-store, engaging directly with customers and working with stock and sales systems.

You will be required to:

• Commit to and complete a minimum of 120 hours of structured learning
• Be actively involved in learning retail processes and best practices
• Work on the sales floor, assisting customers with merchandise and styling
• Operate the service desk and manage customer queries efficiently
• Be responsible for POS transactions, payments, and account openings
• Assist with stock control, inventory management, and merchandising as per MBP standards
• Maintain safety and security protocols in-store
• Foster positive customer relationships and offer excellent service
• Learn how to reduce and manage stock losses
• Maintain a neat, fashion-forward image that represents the Truworths brand

Role Responsibility

As a learner in the Truworths Stores Learnership, your role responsibilities will include:

• Learning how to provide high-quality customer service in a fashion retail setting
• Assisting customers in finding, fitting, and purchasing fashion merchandise
• Learning how to effectively merchandise according to company standards
• Handling point-of-sale transactions and understanding the full sales cycle
• Supporting the store team with inventory, unpacking, pricing, and stockroom duties
• Developing your problem-solving skills and product knowledge to handle customer queries
• Building strong team dynamics and developing professional workplace behaviour

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 10 certificate (minimum educational requirement)
• South African citizenship or valid documentation to work in SA
• Must reside in or near any of the following areas in Pretoria:
  Amandasig, Akasia, Dorandia, Florauna, Karenpark, Hesteapark, Clarina, Chantelle, Ninapark, Theresapark, Andeon AH, Atteridgeville, Booysens, Claremont, Danville, Daspoort, Elandspoort, Hermanstad
• Be between 18 and 35 years old
• Unemployed and not participating in any other learnership or internship programme
• Willing and able to commit to the full duration of the learnership
