Main Responsibilities

As an in-service trainee in quality at Unilever, you will be entrusted with a variety of responsibilities designed to provide you with comprehensive industry experience. These responsibilities include:

  • Learnership Requirements: You will need to complete all learnership requirements as stipulated by Unilever. This includes attending training sessions, completing assessments, working on projects, maintaining a logbook, and making necessary presentations.
  • Manufacturing Operations: Engage in general manufacturing line operations, including packing, cleaning, and performing quality checks to ensure product excellence.
  • Standard Operating Procedures (SOP): Adhere to all SOPs required for your assigned operations, ensuring all tasks are performed correctly and efficiently.
  • Safety and Quality Compliance: Conform to all site rules governing the safety of yourself and others, uphold quality standards, and adhere to Unileverā€™s code of business principles.

Key Requirements

To qualify for this role, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Educational Background: A Grade 12 certificate with at least a 50% pass mark in Core Mathematics and Physical Science.
  • Tertiary Education: Currently completing a National Diploma in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, or Food Technology, with a requirement for P1/P2 work experience.
  • Laboratory Familiarity: Experience or familiarity with a laboratory environment, including understanding laboratory procedures and practices.
  • Computer Proficiency: Competence in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word is essential.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with proficiency in English.
