Introduction
Unilever South Africa is calling on ambitious, motivated, and passionate young people to apply for its YES Programme Internships 2025 intake. This programme forms part of the national Youth Employment Service (YES) initiative designed to give South African youth meaningful work exposure, develop future leaders, and combat unemployment.

What is Unilever (South Africa) YES Programme Internships?
The Unilever YES Programme is a 12-month internship providing unemployed youth aged 18–34 with workplace readiness skills, real-world business exposure, and mentorship opportunities. Interns will be placed in various business functions, including finance, marketing, human resources, IT, supply chain, and more.
The initiative helps participants build professional networks, enhance employability, and prepare for long-term career opportunities.
Minimum Requirements
- South African citizen aged 18 – 34 years
- Must be unemployed and not studying full-time
- Completed Matric (Grade 12)
- Relevant tertiary qualification is advantageous
- No more than 2 years’ work experience
- Must not have previously participated in a YES Programme
- Committed to completing the 12-month internship
- Strong academic performance and computer literacy
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage time effectively and work in a team
- Positive, proactive, and willing to learn attitude
Role Responsibility
Interns in the Unilever YES Programme will support various functions, including:
- Customer Development (CD): Managing relationships with retail clients and driving sales initiatives.
- Culinary Support: Preparing product samples, assisting in demos, webinars, and content creation.
- Marketing: Growing brand awareness and boosting consumer engagement.
- Supply Chain: Supporting sourcing, manufacturing, and delivery processes.
- Human Resources: Talent acquisition, employee engagement, and organizational development.
- Finance: Assisting with financial planning, analysis, and reporting.
- IT: Supporting digital transformation and IT projects.
- Mechanical Engineering: Gaining hands-on experience in manufacturing processes.
- Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE): Implementing safety systems and reducing workplace risks.
- Communications: Assisting with internal and external communications.
- Learning & Rewards: Supporting employee training and compensation management.
