Introduction

The University of South Africa (UNISA) invites applications for its 2025 Internship Programme. This opportunity is available to unemployed South African citizens who have completed a UNISA qualification equivalent to NQF level 6, 7, or higher. This programme is designed to provide valuable work experience in a higher education environment and support graduates in their career development. Successful applicants will be placed in various learning centres across Gauteng for a period of 12 months, commencing on 01 May 2025.

Job Description

The UNISA Internship Programme offers recent graduates practical workplace exposure in various fields. The interns will gain hands-on experience in their respective study areas while contributing to the overall operations of the university. Each position has unique responsibilities, aligned with the specific qualification requirements.

Available Positions and Requirements:

  1. Business Informatics and Information Science Interns
    • Reference: SBA/06/2025
    • Number of Positions: 6

    • Minimum Qualification:
      • Bachelor of Commerce in Business Informatics
      • Bachelor of Science in Informatics
      • Bachelor of Arts in Archives and Records Management and Information Science
    • Additional Advantage: PGCE (completed or currently registered)

  2. Civil and Electrical Engineering Interns

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate should be a motivated UNISA graduate who is eager to gain hands-on experience in their respective field. Candidates should be under the age of 35, possess strong problem-solving abilities, and be willing to work under supervision in a dynamic environment. Previous internship experience at UNISA or any other organization will disqualify applicants.

Role Responsibilities

  • Assist in daily administrative and operational tasks within their assigned department
