Unlock Your Future: Apply for the PAMSA Bursary Program 2025 Today! The Bursary Programme for the 2024 academic year is open for applications by students invited by the Paper Manufacturers Association of South Africa (PAMSA). The Bursary and Research Programme for the 2025 – 2026 academic years is also available for students to apply.
The bursary will cover studies towards a Masters in Chemical Engineering, at a registered South African university.

MORE ABOUT THE PAMSA BURSARY PROGRAMME – COVERAGE VALUE, SERVICE CONTRACT & SELECTION
The bursary will cover the costs of two years of full-time study. Throughout their studies, students will be involved in projects related to enhancing the value of wood fiber, recycled fiber, or process waste, as well as promoting resource efficiency. Additionally, recipients of the bursary may have the opportunity to work as engineer-in-training at PAMSA member companies. Those who are shortlisted will be contacted for an interview, while applicants who do not receive any feedback should assume that their application was unsuccessful.
Requirements:
Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered):
- You must preferably be a South African citizen
- You must be in your final year of BEng/ BSc Chemical Engineering studies OR you must have completed a BEng/ BSc Chemical Engineering degree
- You must have completed your studies in 5 or less years
- You must intend on studying towards a Masters in Chemical Engineering, in 2025
- You must be studying at a recognised and accredited university in South Africa
- You must have a strong academic record, with a minimum overall average of 60% in your final year
