Unlock your future with Standard Bank bursaries 2025 The Standard Bank Group Bursary Programme aims to support academic excellence and nurture the next generation of African talent and leaders through SA bursaries.

Fields of study:

The SA bursaries offered by the Standard Bank Group cover undergraduate and postgraduate studies in various fields, including:

  • Agriculture
  • Commerce
  • Engineering
  • Mathematics
  • Science (Actuarial, Analytics, Business, Computer, Data, Information)
  • Statistics
  • Technology (Financial, Information)
  • Disciplines in the emerging field of Behavioural Economics (Economics, Behavioural Finance, Sociology, Psychology, Neuroscience)

Types of bursaries:

  1. Undergraduate Bursary: This bursary is specifically for students who have successfully completed their 1st year and require funding from their 2nd year of studies onwards.
  2. Postgraduate Bursary: The Postgraduate Bursary provides full-cost bursaries to financially deserving and academically sound students who wish to pursue postgraduate studies in the funded study fields.

  • Applicants should have strong academic results in the relevant qualifications.
  • Applicants must have achieved an average of 65% and above in their latest examinations.
  • Applicants must be registered for full-time studies.
  • Applicants will undergo a formal assessment process, including Psychometric evaluation and an interview.
  • Financial need is taken into consideration during the selection process.

Coverage of the bursary:

The SA bursaries provided by the Standard Bank Group cover the following study and study-related costs:

  • University fees
  • Accommodation (university residence or private accommodation, subject to certain limits)
  • Meals (provided by the university or self-catering)
  • Books and study materials
  • Laptop computer
  • Monthly stipend for living expenses
  • Transport between home and campus (4 times a year, at the cost of a bus ticket)

Required Documents:

The following documents will have to be uploaded:

  • Certified copy of ID
  • Proof of all academic results to date (Gr 12 certificate and full tertiary academic record)
  • Proof of combined household income
