FlySafair, a leading South African low-cost airline operating under Safair Operations, is offering an exciting opportunity for qualified candidates to join its Logistics Department at the Head Office in Bonaero Park as Warehouse Assistants. This role supports critical back-end operations to ensure the seamless storage, handling, and distribution of aircraft spares and logistics materials.
Candidates will report to the Warehouse Supervisor and must uphold industry-leading safety and efficiency standards within aviation warehousing. The ideal candidates must be willing to work rotational 24-hour shifts and demonstrate high integrity, discipline, and commitment to detail-oriented logistics practices.
Tasks
- Move inventory and materials across various facilities
- Process incoming and outgoing inventory for accurate delivery timelines
- Sort, organize, and store inventory according to FlySafair warehousing protocols
- Accurately package items and ensure proper labeling
- Report missing or damaged inventory to the Warehouse Supervisor
- Stack and manage large bulk inventory efficiently and safely
- Update logs and inventory documentation daily
- Perform and direct regular warehouse cleanliness and sanitation tasks
- Monitor and maintain inventory control measures
- Conduct warehouse audits and uphold quality assurance standards
- Handle delicate and aviation-specific items with the utmost care
- Operate tools and warehouse equipment in compliance with SOPs
- Ensure strict compliance with warehousing rules, procedures, and safety regulations
- Perform cycle counts and assist the Inventory Clerk in resolving discrepancies
Qualifications
- Matric / Grade 12 (Essential)
- Warehouse Training Certification (Advantageous)
- Certification in Dangerous Goods and Aircraft Spares Packing (Advantageous)
Experience
- 1–2 years of relevant administrative or warehouse experience within a mid-sized organization (Essential)
- Previous exposure to warehousing best practices, especially in aviation or high-safety sectors
- Familiarity with ERP systems (Advantageous)
- Ability and willingness to work overtime as operational needs dictate
- Flexibility to work 24-hour rotational shifts (Essential)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Capable of multitasking in high-pressure environments
